Today I'm offering a bit from part two in my unusual Victorian romance Loving Leonardo: Loving Leonardo - The Quest.
Setting the stage: At this point in the story, Nicolas, Ellie, and Luca are aboard a steamer headed to the Louvre in Paris following clues depicted in Leonardo da Vinci's book. Tossed by a storm through the Strait of Gibraltar, Nicolas gives over to seasickness. Lying there, he reflects on repeated bad dreams and begins to wonder if they're safe after all.
That childhood trauma had revisited my dreams over the past several nights, and my adult mind lent an additionally horrific reality each time. In one, I came home to find all I knew and loved gone. Another -- all too real -- had me savaged at Bruno’s palazzo while poor Mrs. Fletcher and Thomas were made to watch. Waking in a sweat, I found myself wondering if Bruno had died in the fall as we supposed. We hadn’t checked for a pulse, we had simply assumed. It was getting so I dreaded closing my eyes.
“Nicolas darling, how are you feeling?” Ellie peered under the washcloth covering my eyes and pulled me from my dark musings.
Loving Leonardo -- a polyamorous Victorian love story with a touch of reader-interactive art history.

5-Stars
What a wonderful ending to this two part series of Loving Leonardo. Rose Anderson's writing palate is amazingly colorful. Every word, phrase, and sentence have specific meanings that embed a picture in your head as you read, and you are in the scene yourself. The growing love between Nicolas Halstead and his wife Ellie is lovely, then add Luca Franco and you have a sensual, explosive, beautiful relationship. The reader is a full partner in their joy with each other. There's no doubt that their love will stand the test of time. Secondary characters are realistic - people you can imagine knowing in your own life. The scenes of danger and suspense are well written and chilling. This book and it's predecessor, Loving Leonardo, are so much more than erotic romance. They are learning experiences, art studies, history lessons, and most important of all - they are just darn good stories.
