The idea is to post just 150 words to capture the imagination. Today, I'm offering another small sampling from my unusual Victorian polyamorous romance written with a touch of reader-interactive art history: Loving Leonardo (book 1 in the series)

 
 
Setting the stage: Ellie and Nicolas share a moment that surprises Nicolas.


Grabbing up the sponge, she proceeded to lather it. I allowed her to bathe my back and shoulders and enjoyed the experience in equal measure to the many times Thomas and I shared a bath. Equal measure. I wondered about that.

She wrung the sponge over my shoulders. “So I learned something useful from Mrs. Ormont… Oh fiddlesticks,” she blurted when the bar of soap fell and splashed her blouse with water, effectively ending what she was about to say. “Excuse me.” She stepped from the room to return a moment later wearing only her bloomers and camisole. I drew my legs back to make room and asked if she cared to join me.

A blush pinked her cheeks and she laughed, “Are you serious?”

I challenged her with a teasing grin. “All progressive British homosexuals share baths. Don’t you know?”

“Oh, you are funny.”
