The laugh was infectious. I ran my hand down his arm. “We can still be lovers, Thom.”
Setting the heel of bread aside, he took my hand in his. “Oh Nic, as much as I’d hunger to, and God help me you know I would, I wouldn’t do that to your Lady.”
I went on to explain Ellie’s unique perspective, adding, “She said I’d be free to love who I pleased. I don’t see why things need to—”
Thomas put a hand up to stop me. “She sounds like a remarkable woman Nic, truly she does. But don’t you know that women are a breed apart? Ofttimes what they say is tolerable isn’t, in the end.

"I love the way Rose Anderson delves into the more "taboo" subjects and turns them into enjoyable novels. Well done Ms. Anderson - I look forward to your next story."

How true. The lady may say it's okay, but in the end may find it not so okay. Quite the dilemma your characters have there.

I love it that they recognize that a woman has a complicated mind.
