Seductive Studs & Sirens

It's Saturday and I'm participating in the Seductive Studs & Sirens mini hop!

The idea is to post just 150 words to capture the imagination. Today, I'm offering another small sampling from my unusual Victorian polyamorous romance written with a touch of reader-interactive art history: Loving Leonardo (book 1 in the series)

Setting the stage:
Hearing of the upcoming nuptials, Thomas comes to say goodbye to Nicolas.

My snippet:

“High time?”

He laughed with his mouth full, “You know as well as I do. Since the day you turned thirty, Halstead great-grandbabies are all your Grannie talks about. It’s driving me batty!

The laugh was infectious. I ran my hand down his arm. “We can still be lovers, Thom.”

Setting the heel of bread aside, he took my hand in his. “Oh Nic, as much as I’d hunger to, and God help me you know I would, I wouldn’t do that to your Lady.”

I went on to explain Ellie’s unique perspective, adding, “She said I’d be free to love who I pleased. I don’t see why things need to—”

Thomas put a hand up to stop me. “She sounds like a remarkable woman Nic, truly she does. But don’t you know that women are a breed apart? Ofttimes what they say is tolerable isn’t, in the end.

  1. How true. The lady may say it's okay, but in the end may find it not so okay. Quite the dilemma your characters have there.

  2. I love it that they recognize that a woman has a complicated mind.
