Weekend Writing Warriors

It's Sunday and I'm participating in the Weekend Writing Warriors mini hop! The deal is to post 8 sentences from a writing project, published or unpublished.
This time I'm offering another small sampling from my award-winning Victorian polyamorous romance written with an unusual touch of reader-interactive art history:
Loving Leonardo (book 1 in the series)

First my 8, then details follow:

Thomas was always matter-of-fact in the task, as was I, but the sponge had purpose in Ellie’s hand. Hard to do, but she managed to turn her back to me. Handing the sponge over her shoulder, she asked, “Would you mind washing my back, please?”

I worked up a thick lather and bathed her — a wholly different experience from washing Thomas’ angled planes. I wrung the sponge over her shoulders several times to rinse long after the suds were gone, just because I liked the sight of water cascading over her skin. Her bones were delicate, the soft wispy hairs at her nape sprung into dark curls, reminding me of the ballerinas of Edgar Degas. I was struck by the desire to kiss the column of her neck. I told her so.

She turned to me in surprise and our eyes met but no words were exchanged.

The scene: my newlyweds share an intimate moment.
