Weekend Writing Warriors!

It's Sunday and time for the Weekend Writing Warriors mini hop! Participants post 8 sentences from a writing project, either published or unpublished.

Today I'm offering another small sampling from
Loving Leonardo (book 1 in the ongoing series). A story taken from 2013's headlines, I combined the talking points of the day, gave them a Victorian spin, and created a polyamorous romance written with an unusual touch of reader-interactive art history.

First my 8, then details after:

Refilling our glasses, she raised hers in a toast. “Gentlemen, if I may quote our good friend Leonardo, ‘The noblest pleasure is the joy of understanding.’ To redefinition!”

Raising our glasses with hers, Luca and I joyfully repeated at once, “To redefinition!”

To feed his own curiosity, Luca studied da Vinci’s world and his place in history. Ellie was drawn to the philosophy of the man long considered the personification of the Renaissance. I studied the mind behind man’s unique artworks — an interest formed from my personal affinity. What a trio we were.

Behind the scenes: Here, Nicolas, Ellie, and Luca are discussing Leonardo da Vinci and in thie course of conversation come to find their disparate interests converge compatibly. And more than that, opposites attract.
