Weekend Writing Warriors #8sunday (RO)(MTS)(PA)

It's Sunday and time for the Weekend Writing Warriors. Participants post 8 sentences from a writing project, either published or unpublished. Today I'm offering a small sampling from Dreamscape ~ a reader-interactive Victorian/contemporary romance. Scroll down for more.

First these 8, then details follow:

Killed by a blow to the back of the head. Which monster had done that? For some reason he could easily place the poker in Cathy’s hand. His murdering wife never liked Addy and often hinted at replacing her in the four short months they were married. His stomach clenched, they’d buried his dear Addy alive. Feeling absolutely wretched, he needed to feel Lanie’s arms around him. Despite his vow to stay clear of her in the waking world, Jason lay down and let her warmth seep into him. He whispered to her subconscious, “Dream of me sweetheart, I’m free to love you in that world.”

What just happened: Up to this point in the story, Lanie and her friend Lexie have discovered a body buried in the old house's dirt-floor cellar. While police on the scene speculate who the victim was, Jason the ghost knows. Later that night when Lanie sleeps, he rides her dreams. He discovered her dreams transport his spirit energy to the past where he's still flesh and blood.

"The ending surprised the heck out of me. I didn’t expect it to turn out that way, but was glad to know things worked out as they did.  Dreamscape is a paranormal romantic suspense all wrapped up in one amazing book. Rose Anderson is a new author to me, and with such an impression left on me with this book, I am yearning for more paranormal romances from this talented author. Anderson’s characters stuck in my head when I had to tear myself away from the book, and every time I had a distraction, the book lured me back to it. I’ve been looking for a great story featuring a ghost for a while, and this one fed my addiction very well. I recommend this book highly to any reader that wants a great story, characters that are well created and easily to relate to, a spell binding plot that grabs your attention from the spot and doesn’t want to let go until the end. My advice? Don’t miss Dreamscape. "
- A Reader

What this book really is: Written in homage to Agatha Christie, Dreamscape is a haunting, a murder, a mystery, a time travel of sorts, and a scorching love story that transcends time. It's also a reader's Easter egg hunt. Peppered throughout are hints suggesting a story behind the scenes. Finding them isn't necessary to the telling of the tale, just a twist in my writing.
