Seductive Studs & Sirens

It's Saturday and time for the Seductive Studs & Sirens mini hop. 

The idea is to post just 150 words to capture the imagination. Today, I'm offering a small sampling from Loving Leonardo (book 1 in the series), my unusual award-winning Victorian polyamorous romance. It's unusual because it's written with a touch of reader-interactive art history:  
 
Setting the stage: At this point in the story, Newlyweds Nicolas and Ellie are aboard ship. Here Nicolas sees Luca for the first time and feels an immediate attraction.


My 150:
When in the presence of true beauty, my mind often imagines the person unclothed as the artists of the ages might have seen him. At my table was a statue carved in marble by Gian Lorenzo Bernini; an artist known for his remarkable ability to capture the essence of a narrative moment. I found Luca Franco to be exactly that — a moment indelibly captured in time — a moment of meeting the mind could revisit in its entirety. 

From every angle, he was beautifully made: black-haired, fit, of medium build. He possessed a warm hue to his skin, his lineage no doubt stamped centuries past by the darker Moors or Turks. In startling contrast, quite handsomely framed by black lashes, he had striking eyes the color one might see in a shadow falling across snow — not quite sky blue nor exactly steel gray, but a blending of the two in gradated rings.

The idea is to post just 150 words to capture the imagination. Today, I'm offering a small sampling from my unusual Victorian polyamorous romance written with a touch of reader-interactive art history: Loving Leonardo - The Quest (book 1 in the series)

 

 
Setting the stage: Nicolas discovers a woman's kiss is very nice after all and contradicts a lifetime of knowing about himself.


Drawing close, I kissed her...a tentative touch of my lips to hers. Her mouth was soft and pliant and, unlike my male lovers, her chin and upper lip were void of whiskers. This discovery caused my kiss to firm. Wanting all, I slanted over her, dragging my kiss back and forth, forcing her mouth to open to me. Her sweet champagne tongue coiled with mine hesitantly at first, but this grew bolder the more familiar our lips and tongues became. For all our restrained beginnings, I could tell in her return that kissing wasn’t new to her. She knew how to kiss a man, god yes, she did. I craved to know this enigma, craved to comprehend this contradiction I was fastly discovering Ellie to be. She was both neophyte and temptress. It was her shyness that confused me. It came and went like waves lapping on the shore.

My 8 first, then details follow:

Words husky with desire, he whispered in awe, “I ache for ye, woman. I ache like I never have.”

Kneeling at the end of the bed, he kissed the top of her foot. Her knee once more swung to and fro. Seeing invitation in that sensual display, he kissed up the length of her leg, murmuring heated declarations of desire between kisses. Though a part of him was keenly aware they didn’t know one another, another part of him was certain he’d known her soul forever. “I can hardly control this hunger for ye. Will ye allow me to love you, Jenna?”

Setting the Stage for the above 8: The fear of Carl finding her, the grief of scattering her grandmother's ashes and frustration at being locked in this room with an obnoxious stranger, lead Jenna to down a too-large glass of scotch. Overcome with tears, she finds the stranger a comfort after all. To both their surprise, one moment leads to another. For Alex, it's the enchantment talking. For Jenna, it's the scotch. Or is it?
