Horny Hump Day

It's Wednesday and time for the Horny Hump Day. http://www.hornyhumpday.com/
The deal is to post just 3 sentences to capture the imagination. Today, I'm offering 3 from my unusual Victorian romance Loving Leonardo.

Setting the stage:
In this scene, Nicolas is recalling his time away at school and the day he discovered the other side of Leonardo da Vinci's art.

While our careers ran on parallel tracks, I had to admit my interests were far more personal than academic. When I was hardly more than a school boy, I found myself confused by
a world of black and white, while I was nothing less than grey. My classmates
were consumed by seamstresses and barmaids, and while I found these fair women
fine enough to occasionally turn my head, my eye was consistently drawn to the
corded arm of the smithy or the flanks and mouth of my grandmother’s coachman.

Loving Leonardo -- a polyamorous Victorian love story with a touch of reader-interactive art history.

Weekend Writing Warriors

It's Sunday and I'm participating in the Weekend Writing Warriors mini hop again. The deal is to post 8 sentences from a writing project, published or unpublished. This week I'm offering a bit from my work in progress. More than 5 years in the making. More than 500k words. So far it's a 5-book, as yet-unnamed, labor of love. I call it my magnum opus (MO)

My 8:

Waking from his nightmare trembling, Julian sat up feeling feverish and ready to vomit, and no wonder; it was a very unpleasant way to die.  He had these on occasion – fragments of horrific past life endings that crept unbidden into his dreams. Unfortunately you couldn’t choose what flashed through your sleeping consciousness. It took more than a few measured breaths before the torture-induced nausea passed.

As a Templar Knight, he’d stood with De Molay and the others in 1307 and burned in the fires that followed the Templar round up on Friday the 13th.

Julian closed his eyes and counted backward from ten, seeking the edges of the dream once more. He needed to know why he dreamt this tonight because dreams were often prophetic. The last time this particular nightmare came to him, his brother and sister-in-law were involved in a fatal car "accident".
